Freedom in Christ

I am free indeed

“So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.” John 8:36

So this is my first blog post and I wanted to start off with something that I am very passionate about; Freedom through Christ. I am one of those girls who hates to be caged. I love to travel, sing, and be free. I grew up in a Christian household and knew God but it sometimes felt constraining because I lived out the religion not the relationship. A spirit of religion sets up all these rules and regulations and demands that you meet them. To be a good christian you have to… It felt like I was caged up in a bird cage. It felt like I HAD TO do these things to be a “good Christian girl” or be accepted by Christians. It felt forced; like I had no choice. It wasn’t until I started having a RELATIONSHIP with God that I finally started to know the real freedom that is found in Christ. All these things that I had felt forced to do started to become what I WANTED to do. Now I am not saying that because we are free in Christ that we can freely sin. Galatians 5:13 (ESV) says,” For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.” We are set free from our bondages of slavery and our yoke of sin. We are grafted into God’s family and are CHILDREN of the KING OF KINGS! Doesn’t that excite you?! We are free to follow Jesus’ example of how we are to live our lives. We are free to love others and care for the broken. We are free to be God’s vessels and pray for the sick. WE. ARE. FREE. THROUGH. CHRIST!!!!
