Surrounding yourself with good friends is one of the greatest blessings you can have in life. Friends impact you whether you like it or not. The people you place around you can either make you or break you. This concept took me a while to grasp but when you find those people who inspire you to be a better person and grow closer to God, it can change your life for the better.
Proverbs 27:17 (NIV)
“As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.”
Friends that inspire you to grow closer in your relationship with God and can keep each other accountable are super important. Having those people who are in a similar place spiritually can really inspire your own walk with God.
Having true friends in your life makes life less stressful and more fun. Having friends there when you are sad, that can just listen to you or even just sit with you and just be there, is something that has helped me tremendously.
Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 (NIV)
“Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work:
If one falls down, his friend can help him up. But pity the man who falls and has no one to help him up!”
Some of you may be reading this asking, ” what if I don’t have friends like that?” Don’t be discouraged. I have had times where I just had to rely on God. He will always be there for you to protect you and comfort you. Sometimes those times with God can be the sweetest of all.
