These last few weeks have been crazy, with getting back from Thailand, ending summer, and starting school! I haven’t been able to post much, but hopefully I will get back on schedule again. As I was thinking about what I should do for August’s I’m a Lover of Words, I thought I should find a specific topic to base them around. I then ran across a pin about emotions people feel, but can’t explain. I thought this was perfect so I did a little more digging and found these 10 words. Enjoy!
Adronitis: Frustration with how long it takes to get to know someone.
Rubatosis: The unsettling awareness of your own heartbeat.
Ellipsim: A sadness that you’ll never know how history will turn out.
Exulansis: The tendency to give up trying to talk about an experience because people are unable to relate to it.
Occhiolism: The awareness of the smallness of your perspective.
Opia: The ambiguous intensity of looking someone in the eye, which can feel simultaneously invasive and vulnerable.
Mauerbauertraurigkeit: The inexplicable urge to push people away, even close friends who you really like.
Chrysalism: The amniotic tranquility of being indoors during a thunderstorm.
